Privacy Policy
The DECHEMA makes its best effort to keep confidential the contents of Customer's online searches. However, the DECHEMA may disclose details to its database suppliers if it is necessary to do so in order to resolve Customers problems or to provide DECHEMA database services.
In accordance with Paragraph 33, Section 1 of the Federal German Data Protection Act (§33, Abs. 1, Bundesdatenschutzgesetz), users are herewith informed that DECHEMA stores and processes customers' data in machine-readable form for internal purposes related to the fulfillment of its obligations to its customers according to the contracts it maintains with these customers. This information is treated as confidential at all times and will not be passed on to third parties, except mentioned above.
Security
All sensitive data traffic like user registration and login data are encrypted using the industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol. Optionally users may also conduct their database searches via SSL.
A secure connection can be identified by
- a URL starting with "https://" versus the normal "http://".
- a secure session symbol in the browser status bar: a closed lock or an unbroken key icon (depends on your browser)
- if you click or point on the secure session icon, your browser typically displays the issuer of the server certificate, which is "Thawte" in our case.
